I want to start out by thanking a good friend of mine Marc Holmes for telling me about this place. Every time I go to Lafayette, I make an attempt to stop by and grab a hrimp poboy. This has to be one of the best shrimp poboys in Louisiana.
The store itself is bascially a convenience store with a deli in the back. I imagine the majority of the people stopping here are getting poboys or sandwiches.
The Shrimp Poboy
Y’all. This poboy right here is the bomb. It comes dressed on your standard french bread style loaf. I always hold the tomatoes. The bread itself wasnt too tough as you’d find in a standard poboy from New Orleans. You can easily bite through it.
The fried shrimp is the star here. They use a good medium-sized shrimp. The batter adds a nice crust to the shrimp and it’s seasoned perfectly. The shrimp taste fresh and are fried up just right. The thing I love about it is that it’s so basic, but tasty. It’s not trying too hard. It’s like hey, i’m a shrimp poboy, i’m awesome, eat me.
